Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some frequently asked questions regarding the setup and use of Swim Secure products. If you cannot find the answer you're looking for below, please contact us at info@swimsecure.co.uk.
HOW DO I DEFLATE MY SWIM SECURE PRODUCT?
To deflate Tow Floats or Dry Bags, use the top of the cap to press on the top of the valve. We recommend applying pressure at a 45-degree angle. For the black Boston valve on the Pink Dry Bag and Wild Swim Bag, unscrew the entire valve clockwise until the air is released.
HOW DO I ATTACH THE WAIST BELT AND LEASH?
Loop the leash back on itself through the bottom handle of the Tow Float or Dry Bag, as shown in the diagram. Thread the waist belt through the loop at the other end of the leash. The waist belt can be adjusted by sliding the buckle.
WILL MY TOW FLOAT GET IN THE WAY WHILE I SWIM?
Swim Secure products are designed to float behind the swimmer, staying clear of arms and legs. However, strong winds may cause a Tow Float or Dry Bag to drift towards the swimmer. In windy conditions, we recommend swimming into the wind to prevent the Tow Float from interfering with your stroke.
WHAT KIND OF DRAG DO SWIM SECURE PRODUCTS CREATE?
All Swim Secure Tow Floats and Dry Bags are designed to create minimal drag. Even the larger Dry Bags produce surprisingly little drag, and you'll hardly notice their presence while swimming.
HOW WATERPROOF ARE SWIM SECURE PRODUCTS?
Swim Secure products are designed to be waterproof under surface pressure. Dry Bags should be folded over at least three times, following the level indicated on the back of the bag. The three seals on Bum Bags and the two on Phone Bags should be individually closed, with the flap secured by the Velcro. If you're storing your phone or electronic car keys in a Tow Donut or Dry Bag, we recommend placing them inside a Swim Secure Phone Bag first for added peace of mind and extra protection.
HOW DO I CLOSE MY DRY BAG?
The key is to fold the seal of your Dry Bag over three times. There is an indicator on the back of the bag indicating the proper folding position. For added peace of mind, if you're storing your phone or electronic car keys in the Dry Bag, we recommend placing them inside a Swim Secure Phone Bag first.
HOW SHOULD I STORE MY SWIM SECURE PRODUCT?
After each swim, rinse your product with fresh water and ensure it is thoroughly dried. Store it in a cool, dark, and dry place.
HOW CAN I DISPOSE OF MY SWIM SECURE PRODUCT?
Swim Secure products are built to last and should serve you for many years. Disposal methods may vary depending on the recycling services available in your area. Swim Secure products are typically made from 100% PVC or a PVC/vinyl mix. Please check if your local council accepts this type of plastic for recycling, and dispose of your old Tow Float responsibly.
